The Chamber visited Guangdong College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology

On the afternoon of July 5th, Ma Chiyuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Overseas Investment Federation of China Investment Association, Mr. Seye, Chairman of China-Africa E-Commerce Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Wills, Vice-Chairman, Secretary-General Mr. Amin, Deputy Secretary-General Mr.JM, and Treasurer Mr. Jocelyn When the international delegation of African guests came to visit the school, Vice President Chen Dongmei warmly received the visiting guests.

This trip is a return visit to our school by Deputy Secretary-General Ma Chiyuan and China-Africa E-Commerce General Chamber of Commerce after jointly holding the first training course on cross-border e-commerce for African businessmen in Guangzhou with our school. Secretary-General Ma and Chairman Seye, on behalf of the African businessmen who participated in the training, conveyed the training experience and gratitude to the teachers of the school, and expressed their desire to continue participating in the intermediate and advanced training in cross-border e-commerce.

On behalf of the school, Vice President Chen Dongmei extended a warm welcome to Deputy Secretary-General Ma Chiyuan and the leaders of China-Africa E-Commerce Chamber of Commerce for their second visit! She made a brief summary of the first phase of the “Cross-border E-commerce Training” project organized by our school and the China-Africa E-Commerce General Chamber of Commerce for African businessmen in Guangzhou, and introduced our school’s “double-high” construction professional group to African guests. The successful graduation of 11 students of the first engineering class for African students.

Vice President Chen Dongmei also specifically told African guests about her experience of making rice dumplings with African students in our school during the Dragon Boat Festival this year. She introduced the meaning of this traditional Chinese festival and the “reunion” implied by “making rice dumplings” to African students. “The meaning of “happiness” and “harmony”, the Dragon Boat Festival allows international students to experience the meaning of traditional Chinese culture from different perspectives in addition to their internships.

The two sides expressed that they will continue to deepen cooperation, further promote the vocational skills training of China-Africa cross-border e-commerce, and jointly cultivate technical and technical talents urgently needed by the “Belt and Road”. Work hard for the goal of one family!

After the talks, Vice President Chen Dongmei also led the guests to the Cultural and Creative Exhibition Room of the School of Design to visit the exhibition of calligraphy and painting works by teachers and students. The African guests learned Chinese calligraphy with great interest under the guidance of the provincial technical expert Mr. Xie Zhixian. The provincial technical expert Mr. Xie Zhixian also improvised a painting of “Long Live China-Africa Friendship” in official script as a gift to the African delegation, which left a deep impression on the guests!

Also participating in the exchange activities were Song Ou, Secretary of the Party Branch directly under the School of Continuing Education, Chen Weiguo, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Design, Zhong Wenli, Dean, and Yuan Yan, the leader of the cross-border e-commerce major of the School of Economics and Business.
